Claudius, born in South Africa, was raised to obey the rules of his military commanding father. Once conflict arose globally, Claudius seized his moment to take to the sea and rebel against the authority he had come to despise. With the aide of powerful crime lords in his native South Africa and surrounding waters, Claudius began his own reign as a nautical dictator and soon formed the South Sea League in the waters of the Pacific. It was here where his hunt began for Lucius and Gabriel who had both opposed his sole claim over the waters. Without paying a percentage to Claudius (and their loots soon mounting up), the crew of North Star and of Invictus both soon became the envy of opposing pirates, as well as the infamous bounty hunter Shangar Muhl.

Tommy Lamarr Owens portrays the evil “Claudius” in Dark Horizon, but assures that he is deep down just a nice guy. Owens portrays one of the two lead roles in Image Entertainment's new comedy Game Day, now available on DVD. He has been an actor for nearly fifteen years appearing in such contemporary hits as Primary Colors with John Travolta, Disney's Mighty Joe Young remake with Charlize Theron, and Buena Vista 's Scream 2. In 1998, Owens was directed by Dark Horizon co-producer Ryan Hall in the short student film, The Legend of Dead Man's Canyon. The two remained close friends, which later led to Owens receiving a key role in Dark Horizon. He lives in Costa Mesa, California with his wife and daughter.
