Direction/Production of Dark Horizon

    Matthew Charles Hall is an actor turned director from Orange County, California. At the age of six he started making his own short films, but his big break came at the age of twenty where his father gave him the chance to direct his own short film. He has since directed several, including the psychological thriller Projections, which is currently being adapted into a novel for international distribution, and the science fiction short film Visitors, which received much praise from visual effects pioneer and Academy Award® winner Ray Harryhausen. In addition he directed the Biblical short film Samaritan in 2004, and just finished directing his first commercial for Los Angeles television. He most recently crafted the horror short In the Land of Phantoms as an homage to the classic horror genre which will have it's world premiere at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival this May. His feature length film debut, Dark Horizon, is due out this summer on DVD and nationwide at select film festivals. It will hit local Southern California theaters in the fall.

    Ryan A. Hall, a graduate of Chapman University's School of Film and Television, is an award winning cinematographer and sound designer living in Southern California. Hall directed his first short film entitled The Legend of Dead Man's Canyon at age twenty-one, and has since gone on to photograph in various locations across the globe. In 2001, Hall created the short film series entitled Center Stage, which focused on the lifestyle of teenagers as they face their everyday struggles in life. As a documentarian, he has captured footage in the wilds of Kenya, the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans, and has photographed the living conditions in the rural parts of Vietnam. His most recent endeavors include photographing and co-producing the horror short film In the Land of Phantoms and the upcoming adventure epic Dark Horizon with friend and collaborator Matthew Charles Hall.
