Lucky Jack "Axle" Jaxton left Sydney, Australia in the year 2035 in an attempt to escape society and establish his own working environment on a rumored lost island chain in the South Pacific. He stumbled across the abandoned US military outpost on the recently uncovered islands known to local mariners as the Dark Horizon. With his life savings on the line, Jaxton set up a dockyard on the abandoned island outpost and made it port to his magnificent ship Apocalypse. In addition to his impressive nautical background, Jaxton is also an impressive aviator expert which was more prominent in the days before the North Star and Invictus seperated ways. Once he betrayed North Star, his days as a trusted advisor to Lucius had come to an end, and he was left for dead on the mysterious island chain where he once resided as sole proprietor. Now marooned on the main island of the Dark Horizon, Jaxton waits in secret for the return of his former crew.

"Lucky" Jack Jaxton, played by Paul “Gabby” Bashaw, is no stranger to pirate adventure films having just appeared in Gore Verbinski's Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End. Bashaw can also be heard on the soundtrack for the film singing the original song “Hoist the Colours” with various other individuals from the film's dramatic opening sequence. Before shooting his sequences for Dark Horizon , Bashaw wrapped filming with HBO's Deadwood, having appeared in multiple episodes across all three seasons.

He has played a variety of roles set in period times but Dark Horizon is possibly his most diverse. He has worked with various Hollywood talent on other endeavors on television since the late 1970s and has appeared in various stage performances across Southern California. He lives with his wife in Corona, California.
